We get these questions a lot. Here are our best answers...
This is the best part! You can get started for NO MONEY OUT OF YOUR POCKET! That’s right. We have several finance companies that will let you get started with no money down programs. This way you can just decide to go solar and it will cost you nothing to get started!
From saving money to withstanding power outages, solar energy offers big advantages for you. We will break down the top reasons why you should switch to clean energy.
So number one, you can go solar for zero down. It costs you absolutely no money out of pocket. Most people don’t know that. Number two, you can save anywhere from 10% to 50% a month off your current electricity bill. That’s a huge savings! I mean what could you do with that money especially over a year, over 10 years? Over time, it becomes a lot of money! Number three, you increase the value of your home immediately. Because you now have an asset- an electricity producing asset- that is part of your home. Number four, you become energy independent. You’re not relying on some unknown power plant that may be hundreds of miles away from your house generating that power, sending it through these transmission lines to turn on your light bulbs. You’re generating power from your own rooftop! This is a huge deal. And number five, it’s 100% clean, green energy.
If you want to get the most out of the current Investment Tax Credit (ITC) then you better act now.
First, let’s define what a tax credit is. A tax credit is $1 for $1 reduction in the amount of income tax you would otherwise owe. For example, claiming a $1,000 federal tax credit reduces your federal income taxes due by $1,000. The solar investment tax credit was brought to life in the energy policy act of 2005. Congress passed the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) which increased the federal income tax credit to 30% and extended the time frame to 2032. So what is a federal solar tax credit? The federal residential solar tax credit commonly referred to as the ITC, is a tax credit that can be claimed on federal income taxes for a percentage of the cost of the solar PV system. The system must be placed into service during the tax year and generate electricity for a home located in the United States.
Number two-and this is what most people don’t think about-what’s happening If you’re overpaying every single month? What could you do if you started saving that money you were losing every month by paying your utility company and putting it in a piggy bank? After a year could you take your family on a vacation? Could you pay off a credit card debt? Could you start to save up for your next home improvement project that you’re doing? This is a substantial amount of money. In fact-on average-we find that our clients save over $35,000 over the warranty life of a system. So what could you do with that extra $35,000?
Net metering is the policy that really enables your solar to work. What it means is that there’s essentially a policy across the United States (minus a handful of states) that says for every kilowatt hour that you put into the grid you will receive a credit for that kilowatt hour. So if your solar system produces 10 kilowatt hours of energy and it puts those 10 kilowatt hours into the grid that’s 10 kilowatt hours into the grid that you get back. Now this is really important because your solar system produces energy during the daytime, but you use energy as well during the night time. So how it works is during the daytime you put a lot of energy into the grid and it actually rewinds your meter so you bank all those credits and then at night you pull that energy off the grid and you use all the credits that you accumulated for the day. So that’s net metering. It’s an amazing policy that’s enabled so much solar, and, in effect, gives you the ability to use the grid as your own battery.
One of the questions we get from clients-all the time-is how do solar warranties work? Now there are three types of solar warranties: The first one is on the panels. So when you buy a solar system for power, those panels are warranted for 25 years. What that means is they’re guaranteed to work for 25 years and continue to produce power now depending on the panel you buy that production guarantee could be anywhere from 85% of the power they were producing a day one all the way up to 92% if you opt for a more high efficient premium panel. Now the second type of warranty is on your inverter. Your inverter is what actually transforms the energy that you get directly from the Sun into usable Alternate Current (AC) energy that powers your coffee machine and all that good stuff running on electricity in your home (but mainly the coffee machine). Your inverter is warrantied anywhere from 12 to 25 years and a lot of times we will also include an extended option for 30 years which really makes it a complete no brainer. Finally, the third part of the warranty is for the workmanship-basically any thing we need to do to get the system on to your house is warrantied. Our workmanship warranty is for 10 years and what that means is all the work that we do on your house when we’re installing your solar system when we’re on your roof when or when we’re working inside your electrical panel, all of that work is guaranteed for 10 years to make sure that there’s absolutely no issues. So between 25 years on the panels, 12 to 30 years on the inverter, and 10 years on the workmanship warranty, we truly have got you covered when it comes to protecting your solar investment and making sure that it provides value to you for the long haul.

Yes. Many studies have shown that an average solar panel installation of 6.5kW will add approximately $4/watt to the value of your home. Doing the math on this is 6.5kW x 1000w/kW = 6500watts, and then 6500 watts x $4/watt = $26,000. Nice! The real question, how much value will be added to your home by paying the utility company for the next 20 years? The answer = $0!!!!
Yes. In fact, they will give you a Tax Credit of up to 30% of the system costs. You can check this out at the IRS website.
